FAQ's for 2005G1/2005G2 Vacuum Hand Pumps
Question:
After awhile my handpump fails to effectively pull and hold a vacuum.
What do I do?
Answer:
Our Vacuum Hand Pumps need lubrication to function properly. With age
lubrication tends to dry out. Another cause of this could be debris
under the diaphragm on the pumps check valve. We sell a lubrication
kit part # 2006K3 which contains a small bottle of diffusion pump oil,
the same oil we use when assembling the pumps. DO NOT use a petroleum
distillate or another type of standard lubrication oil as it will attack
and deteriorate the rubber components inside the pump. To remedy the
above problem the pump must be disassembled by removing the red rubber
end caps. The pump oil should then be applied to the rubber diaphragm
on the check valve after making sure it is cleaned free of debris and
also on the rubber cup inside the pump cylinder and the pump rod as
well. This should done when pumping action becomes difficult and or
when pump will not hold vacuum.
