Below is an explanation of the different fields on the form, to help you fill it in properly for a quick turnaround on your quotation:

TOLERANCES OF FABRICATION:

STANDARD TOLERANCE – As   Cast

Ceramic mixes have a known shrinkage rate, but we can generally hold tolerances to .015-.032 inches without much additional labor.

PRECISION TOLERANCES  -As  Machined

For parts that require tight tolerances, generally +/- .005 inches or less, we will need you to send a dimensioned drawing specifying those tolerances and other factors deemed necessary, in addition to your precise tolerances on the form.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:

The bar (air entry) values indicated are the standard versions we currently manufacture. If you are not certain which ceramic material will best fit your needs, please contact our sales department.

QUANTITY REQUIREMENTS:

We can make 1 or thousands of units for you. However, the more you order, the better the price as it amortizes your initial tooling and mold costs. We will always offer price breaks for large volume orders  and can provide scheduled deliveries when  for longer large quantities orders.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Soilmoisture can provide additional manufacturing processes:

• Joining and mating ceramics to materials such as glass, metals, plastics, and other dissimilar items.
• Glazing for permanent sealing or to join surfaces
• Testing air entry values or flow rates on each fabricated unit

DESCRIPTION OF USE:

In order to provide you with the perfect ceramic, any additional, non-proprietary information on the desired use/application of the product will be most helpful.

We will happily sign an NDA should your special ceramic be used in any patentable or propriety product. Soilmoisture will not share or divulge any information concerning your product or ceramic needs.

ADDITIONAL COSTS/FEES

• Special molds and mold tooling may be needed to produce a unique shape.
• We charge a one-time fee for fabrication of special tooling and production molds casting.
• We charge a recurring set-up fee for each run, as each run requires special attention, machining and/or labor to produce the parts.
